I just made the rounds through the classes at #nashvillebanjocamp and everything seems to be in order. I heard, “Earl”, up the neck”, and “you could consider another bridge”. This camp is on point. #banjo (at Ridgetop, Tennessee)

You Can be a FiddleStar
I post things about fiddling. And how we can all be better at it.

Spent a little time in the studio today with two of my dearest friends, putting some fiddle down on a couple of their lovely Christmas songs. Also, there were tacos. #embarrassmentofriches #tacos #christmas (at Spring Hill, Tennessee)

One of my students wanted a Christmas song today, because you know, it’s November. So I came up with this little double stop-y version of Good King Wenceslas. I used to play this out of my mom’s “Christmas Carols for Piano” book that (I’m almost positive) still sits in the piano bench with the lift-up storage compartment at her house. I used to love getting that little book out and playing through those classic songs. Forgive me for the out of tune double third finger right there at the end. I believe Christmas is the season of forgiveness. #christmascarolsforfiddle #whathappenedtobadkingwenceslas (at Fiddlestar)

My grandson turned two. He had a bouncy tractor at his party. And John Deere cupcakes. We got him a Mickey Mouse ukulele. It was a fine time. #colerandall (at Orlinda, Tennessee)

I am excited to embark on a new chapter of my working life - I recently gave my notice to the Pam Tillis organization and will no longer be touring with her or Lorrie Morgan (on their awesome Grits and Glamour Tour). I must admit, I'm sad to be leaving. It's been an incredible four years and I have learned so much. Thanks to Pam, her amazing husband/manager Matt Spicher, and my bandmates, especially the lovely and talented Mary Sue Englund, with whom I spent more time over the last few years than I did with my husband. And I wouldn't trade a minute of it...
