Yesterday was the teaching portion of The #fluevoginsideout Tour and it was a spectacular success and ridiculously fun. I’m not exaggerating. I also believe Adam had 309 people in his workshop. Ok, maybe not that many but it was a lot and I got to see some of my favorite students and campers in my workshop AND I got to do some band coaching with @northcountryblue and they’re awesome already so that was easy. Also, we spent the evening in the city and it was perfect. We’re both a little bit beside ourselves with the amount of love and fun we experienced over the last few days and you can be sure, we’ve already started planning the return engagements. Redding. What can I possibly say about the old hometown that hasn’t already been said? But maybe I can add a few things… 1) It felt so strange to be singing in the Pilgrim again after all these years but I tried to remember everything Ken Putnam ever taught me. I think I got about 75% of it right. 2) I must have gotten really lucky or been super cool in a previous life because I was surrounded by so much love, support, and good advice growing up. Last night I got a chance to thank a few of those people in person. 3) That damn bridge really made the whole town classier. 4) I played a round of “homegrown or transplant” and it was fun but not as fun as with @curmud.geon This was the last concert of The #fluevoginsideout Tour and it was a doozy. Thanks to the Oaksongs Concert Series and to my family and friends for all the, well, everything. The #fluevoginsideout Tour continued north last night for a most pleasant and pie-filled concert at the Folsom Opry. Our dear friends John and Loretta Hettinger worked their magic yet again. (I’ve performed there probably a half dozen times.) I rank the pomegranate pie tops for this outing. Adam votes for rhubarb. We don’t have to agree on everything. The #fluevoginsideout tour rolls along and tonight in Alameda was one for the ages. We played Natchez Under the Hill with @thebarefootquales and we literally had a standing room only section and a green room with cheese so what could possibly be better? Tomorrow we head to the Folsom Opry for an already sold out show and we’re feeling pretty overwhelmed by all of it. Thank you to everyone who came out tonight.
