Man oh man, I knew I liked that Kenny Baker. I found him playing this one, the beautiful Friday Night Waltz (Oh, and happy #waltzwednesday everybody!) and then immediately found another recording of Friday Night Waltz, also by Kenny, but in a different key (and sorta different but not completely). I love that I’m not the only one who can’t help but change keys on stuff. This one is from the duet recording he did with Joe Greene, not his Spider Bit the Baby album. That’s the other one.

I recorded this the same day as I recorded the video I posted yesterday but I flipped my hair over to the other side so you’d be able to tell the difference. Happy first of December, by the way. December is my favorite month of the year and I will make sure to remind you about my birthday in enough time for you to help me celebrate. 🎉

Something old, something new.

My grandmother’s China is finally making its way out here, a little at a time. I’m so grateful to @dancing_mur and my stepmom and @curmud.geon for helping facilitate this project. I’ve always loved this China and am honored that it was passed down to me.

It’s new laptop time! Special thanks to the guy at @simplymac who actually talked me out of some things I didn’t need. I’ve always bought my stuff there and will always. I am grateful for the camera in the new MacBook Air. My job requires me to stare at my own face for hours a day and damned if this thing doesn’t take about 10 years off of me vs the previous model.

Got my booster yesterday. Feeling achy but otherwise ok (and a lot better than poor @adamspickoftheday who is rather miserable) and for my third piece of gratitude today, I’m grateful to be better protected and less likely to pass this awful virus to someone else. It’s been a year since I got sick and I’m still not entirely better. I don’t wish that on anyone. I hope you’re all looking forward to something this weekend. ❤️ (at Fiddlestar Camps)

Zoom fiddle workshops coming this Saturday, 11/13! Int/adv class is doing a whole bunch of Dark Hollow and a mess of exercises and technique stuff. Bgnr class is taking on the classic Coleman’s March along with an intro to ornamentation. You can sign up for one or both over at www.fiddlestar.com and as always, you don’t have to attend live. All workshops are recorded so just sign up whether you’re available or not!
