I must admit, I chose this particular St. Louis bbq joint for its name. @adamssmokehouse seemed like the perfect choice for me and @adamspickoftheday. But it turned out to be a successful choice all the way around. The owner was so engaged with us and seemed delighted that we chose his place out of all the excellent choices for St. Louis bbq. He suggested the beans and pasta salad for our sides, which wouldn’t have been my first choices but I’m glad I did. The beans were heavy on the molasses but had enough spice to balance it all out. The pasta salad had a nice creamy dressing but most importantly, the shell pasta was perfectly al dente. The ribs were excellent - moist and beautifully glazed. I loved the Cranberry Cayenne sauce (unique to Adam’s Smokehouse and a perfect spicy sweet combo) but Adam loved the more classic Sweet Jane. We met a couple of nice old guys from Evansville, IN seated at the table next to us. Disabled vets, both of them, they just seemed like the exact chatty old guys you’d want to meet in a tiny bbq and that made the whole experience even more memorable. I highly recommend Adam’s Smokehouse if you’re ever near Forest Park in St. Louis. Oh, and get the homemade salami! Like I told the owner (who brought us some to our table just to try 🤗) it’s like all the history of the Midwest represented in a cured meat. #bbq #stlouis #adamssmokehouse #tryallthemeats (at Adam’s Smokehouse)

We went on a trip and saw a baseball game! No, no. Not me and Mur. Get this - I got @adamspickoftheday to go to St. Louis to see his very favorite @cardinals at Busch Stadium, for the first time in his life. He got to swing a real Ozzie Smith World Series bat (I went with Lou Brock, he was always more my guy - I love me some stolen bases.) and try on some World Series rings and we got a game ball and a Stan Musial hat and it was really fun. Also, I would have posted this yesterday when it happened but Adam said I couldn’t because burglars. So don’t try to rob us because we’re already back home.
