You Can be a FiddleStar

I post things about fiddling. And how we can all be better at it.

From the#nashvillebanjocamp staff concert, here are some interesting points. 1) @mandolin2842 plays better with damaged fingers than most of ever will with fully functioning ones. 2) @jvbanjo5 is perpetual #banjobeastmode (at Fiddlestar)

The @specialconsensus Route 10 band reunion show last night at the @stationinn1974 was pretty spectacular, but sadly, the audience never got a chance to experience the magic that was happening backstage. #tinaadair has really improved on the fiddle. Also, she can sing and play at the same time. Most people think that’s just for Bruce Molsky or Tim O’Brien. But they would be wrong. @deanier has really created a star here. #dogtitty #fiddle (at Station Inn)

Another #nothanksgiving has come and gone (I generally hate the day after Thanksgiving, for damn good reasons) and happily, I got to continue my tradition of doing something new or different with someone I like. Started around 20 years ago with my friend Tyler, it’s led me to some memorable adventures. Today @ashbyfrank and I went to Antioch and had hot pot for lunch. This was my first time eating traditional hot pot and as someone who loves to do work around eating food, I can say wholeheartedly that this is a new favorite meal option. So delicious - so fun! We’ll be back. Next time, double the mussels, leave off the crabs, and add more tofu. #hotpot #antiochdoesntgetenoughlove (at Sichuan Hot Pot & Asian Cuisine)

I am excited to embark on a new chapter of my working life - I recently gave my notice to the Pam Tillis organization and will no longer be touring with her or Lorrie Morgan (on their awesome Grits and Glamour Tour). I must admit, I'm sad to be leaving. It's been an incredible four years and I have learned so much. Thanks to Pam, her amazing husband/manager Matt Spicher, and my bandmates, especially the lovely and talented Mary Sue Englund, with whom I spent more time over the last few years than I did with my husband. And I wouldn't trade a minute of it...
